Need help on putting on a broken PTT cap & Cruise cap?
Ok, I know this seems simple, but i want to be sure i do it right so i don't lose the new caps i ordered in. I had a PTT cap lost after trailering my Ultra and also the Cruise cap. I noticed when i got the new caps, that they have a small piece of copper or metal in the bags. What exactly do i do with them? Looks like they may fit in the back slots of the caps to secure the cap to the switch, but i want to be sure how to put em on? Also, on the cruise switch it looks like all that is left is a very small hole with nothing to attach the cruise cap to? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Find your year/model bike and download the pdf file with the installation instructions. The brass clip is used or not depending on model year:

The PTT and cruise caps use a special tool (like a tuning fork). You use the tool and your thumb with significant pressure to install them correctly.
I put chrome ones on and they wiggled a lot; eventually lost the PTT while rolling down I-75; bought a replacement and a tech installed it for me--surprised me how much pressure he used to press the cap onto the switch. He did the others as well.
