If you decide to come inland, don't attempt to split lanes on the 110 North into Pasadena during rush hour. The oldest and narrowest freeway in California.

If you are talking highway 75 out to the Island, I have never riden that part. The map does show it as a scenic byway.

I have spent some time in Point Loma. In my opinion, that area is a conjested cluster f*ck. Pick up the 5 and go beyond the base for the best of the So Cal coastline.

Can only imagine how nice it must be.But living here in the NorthEast offers some of the best riding on the planet, for as much as nine months out of a year.My favorite time of the year is only a few weeks away.

[QUOTE=BLKBAGGER;6196970].... A buddy of mine got pulled over for a novelty helmet and they towed his bike. Not good in my book...QUOTE]

Your buddy will be glad to know that's no longer done (towing solely for improper head protection) due to litigation. Now you're issued a citation commonly called a "fix-it ticket" for improper head protection that has a fee for paperwork processing. This is interpreted as including a do-rag, bandana, hat, novelty helmet, etc. This change is another reason why you should be an ABATE supporter and safeguard motorcycling. Who do you think got the handlebar law in the CVC changed so we could all run apes? Yes, ABATE...

As far as Sedona AZ goes, you can get there off of I-10, take Rt 60 thru Salome, then SR 71 to SR 89 to Prescot then Alt 89 to Sedona.

Thanks Big M, I am familiar with that route. I am concerned about going through parts of that given that it will be February. I can handle cold weather being from Michigan but I do not want to find snow in Arizona. I have seen enough for the year already. I have been very impressed over the years with some of the roads in Arizona in how scenic, and in good condition they are. And it is amazing how some of these areas and roads have so little traffic. Is there a backwoods route other than US 10 thay you know of. By looking at maps it is a little hard to tell which routes are good motorcycle roads through the mountains. We have found some very good day ride loops surrounding the Pheonix area that do not look like much by just looking at a map. This is what I am looking for in my 3-5 day ride from Pheonix to Camp Pendleton and back.

Thanks for your input.
