I have a Zumo 550 and will be turning on the XM in a month. I'm not totally sold on having to have the GPS mounted whenever I wanted to hear XM though. So I might opt for one myself.

Installed my XM Module on my 2009 Street Glide this past weekend. The sound quality was excellent, and I had strong reception thorughout my ride on Sunday that covered lots of backroads and canyons in the Malibu-Ventura-Ojai-Carpenteria areas of southern California. The combination of the J&M 7.25" speakers and the XM satellite radio is really fantastic. The XM Radio Kit was pricey, but I know that I am going to get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

i put the xm module on mine about 8 months or so ago. Gotta say, I'm very dissapointed in the reception. even simply riding around town i lose reception constantly. thinking about taking the antenna out of the fairing and mounting it on the outside somewhere... for the cost of this and the harness needed to complete the install (which took about 30 minutes total) i was sadly dissapointed and regret spending the almost $500 on this... ipods and mp3 cds are the ticket...

My volume is great. With the J&M 7.5" speakers and XM's enhanced sound quality, I am getting great sound at high volume. I had read on this forum that some guys had experienced electrical noise that got louder as the engine RPMs increased. So I asked my dealer if they have experienced any such problem, and they said "no," despite having installed a lot of these. I even called Harley Davidson's Customer Service, as well as asked Dr. V-Twin, and both said they had not heard of such problems. I wanted to know because if I was going to need to add a "noise suppressor" as some had suggested, then I wanted to do it all at one time. So far, I have not experienced any sound distortion or noise. ULTRANUTZ, I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience with your XM Radio. Believe me, I'd be upset too for that amount of money if I didn't get great reception and sound quality. Have you taken your bike to your dealer to see what they say?
