Default 2010 Road King is here! Need some help?

I ordered a new 2010 RK about 3 months ago. It arrived at the dealership last week and I had them install the Heritage style bars and new grips.

Picked the bike up today just before the dealership closed. Bike looked great, sounded good and rode well. I was about 15 miles into my ride home feeling all happy and proud when I noticed that my brake lights and signal lights were not working. A few minutes later I noticed that the yellow engine light was on as well. It's dark by now so I was worried about the bike dying on me in the middle of the road and also the fact that the cagers behind me can't see me braking or signaling to make turns, but I made it home with no issues.

Anyway, dealership was already closed so I could not bring it back to them tonight. I emailed the service writer who took my order and said I was bringing the bike back when they reopen on Monday.

I do have a few questions for you guys. I'm guessing that when they installed my new bars they messed up the wiring on the lights. Does anyone know if this would also cause the engine light to go on? Also, do you think it's safe to ride the bike back to the dealer (about 30 miles) or should I expect to have the dealer tow it?

At this point any advice on what the issues are and how to best handle this with the dealer is greatly appreciated.

Here is a pic of my new bike sitting in my garage. I'm pissed because now I can't even ride it on Sunday and it's supposed to be sunny and 65.

I wish I could tell you what's wrong, but I can't. I can tell you that's a very sharp bike. The dealer should take care of it. I would call them right away monday morning. Hopefully somebody here will chime in with an eazy fix. Maybe a loose ground wire?

Thanks. I definitely won't attempt to fix the wiring myself. It's going right back to the dealer as soon as they open on Monday. I'm just hoping someone will know what the dealer messed up and what is causing the engine light to come on.

I would get them to tow it. It isnt legal or safe to ride without lights.

If they broke some of the wiring for the turn signals then yes that will bring on the check engine light. If you do a WOW test you can get the code and see whats wrong with the bike..

Great looking bike! I'll bet it is something simple to fix by the dealer. You may want to ask them to do a service call to your house by a technican. may be cheaper on them and would keep you a happier camper!

With everything being out a quick check of the fuses may be an easy worth wile effort as well just in case something was shorted with the install of the bars.

+1 on pulling the code. There's some very innocuous codes that aren't worth worrying about and then there's others . . . Could be a code related to reduced/low voltage which would go with a wiring screw-up.

Thanks! I ran the diagnostic and the only code that came up was P0572/Brake Switch Low and PN 32933-10. The brake light isn't working at all so is that the code for it?
