Hey folks, looks like the limited is getting closer!!
Sold my Goldwing this AM and am free to take the plunge.

I have decided, thanks to great advice on here, not to go with the lowering kit and modify the seat.

I sat on a ultra with a reach seat today and it met my needs from a height perspective. I would most likely send to mean city for a comfort upgrade.

My question comes down to can Mean City accomplish the same position as the reach with the factory seat?

Any experience?

You need to contact them. You may find you don't need to purchase a reach seat. They can do some pretty trick stuff with a regular old seat. Wish I had my old seat.

 

I have a 09 FLHX and I was on the tip of my toes and considered getting a reach seat............I went with a touring seat instead, makes me flat footed BUT......I also catch more air because the seat has my legs wider then the stock seat.

 

I got a reach seat and had meancity redo stock seat. Wish I had more padding in both, maybe jell or stiffer foam. The reach seat moves me forward and down, giveing a little more comfort, don't feel like I'm sliding back any. I'd talk to meancity first to see what they can do.

 

i want a seat that has less of a "cup" to it and the bottom of it sits up higher so that it is overall flatter and would be easier to slide off the back. kind of like the Livewire Low Profile Seat or the Street Rod XG750A

 

Why wouldn’t you just call Mean City Cycles. After all the opinions on here from people who all mean well you’re going to end up calling them anyway. Geez
After all they are the experts.
