Question Internally Wired Heritage Style Handlebar. Can it done?

I have been looking at changing Handlebars on my 08 Road King. I am looking at Heritage Style Handlebar – Chrome PN# 56902-08. My question is can these bars be internally wired? –or- Would I need to go with the Chrome High Handlebar PN# 56180-08 to do that?

Thanks

If you mean do they work with the fly by wire, yes - they are notched for the new throttle module. I have the bars on my 09 RKC. Love em. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...g?t=1263574478

Can the switch housing wires be ran internally too?

im pretty sure you can run internal on almost any bar, you may have to drill holes for the wiring...but it can be done as long as the bar is hollow

That's what I'm coming up with too... I think it would be best just to buy a bar that is setup for internal...
Thanks for the reply's

Manufacturers have designed placement of holes for these, you don't want to be screwing with integrety of something you're holding on to ! The larger diameter bars are there for a reason, taking material out for holes for wires and cables ! Just be careful guys, thanks

No big deal, I've done it several times. Harley bars are SS, no rust worry. Learn how to take the connectors apart correctly. Make a written note of location of wires in the connectors. You'll need to drill a hole in a convenient spot near each hand control, and 2 holes in the middle. Take a few minutes with a rattail to smooth out rough edges for obvious reasons. Feed a piece of piano wire or an old straight wire throttle from one end to the middle. When it is through, tape or hook it to the bundle of fires from that sides switches. I use soapy water, but silicone spray is good also to lube everything up. Take you time and work all the wires down to the middle. Use a small pair of needlenose to pluck one out through the hole and then pull all the rest. Repeat for other side. If you need to extend wires, cut wire about 2" from end and splice (please use solder you'll be happy you did) an extention in the middle. This way you dont have to fool around with getting the special pliers and Deutch ends.

Good Luck.
