I'm visiting from the Dyan section with a question. I'm preparing to do a build on my 2010 Wide Glide and trying to minimize my down time. I can buy a set of new take-off heads from a 2010 Ultra Classic to be sent off for the work. Are the heads the exact same as mine? I read somewhere that the new heads are machined for a new style mount on the Touring bikes??? Is it something that I can see once installed? I know the heads are the same just wondering about the additional machining....

The additional machining is a boss in the front drilled/tapped to accept a bolt for the motor mount on the baggers. You will be able to see it, but it could be dress up appropriately by puttin a chrome bolt in the hole and touching up the raw finish around the hole with black engine paint. I put a set of 08 heads on an 06 bagger and you could still see the area if you were looking for it, but it wasn't all that noticeable. On the Dyna it would be able to be seen more.

It will only be on the front head. PM petemac here on the forum and ask him to take a pic of his scoot with the exposed drilled boss up front, his is the scoot we put them on......oh wait, he left his camera at my house I don't know if he has an extra camera, but if he does he may be able to snap a shot for ya
