Must have got mine at the right time then. I would not have bought them if it wasn't for the boxes. Gotta have more storage! The price for them painted was what the unpainted vented ones were within maybe $20 then. I bought unpainted and did it myself cause I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait weeks for them.

Different strokes for different blokes... in UK.
Bought vented lower fairings for my ride. Live in Northern NY and it makes sence. Cooler weather, rainy weather, they work. If I was in the south I would not have them... but I'm not. They make a differnece for me in my climate, and my world!

I only want them for the spring and fall when the temp drops. I bought a set of unvented for my classic since they were cheaper and a set of RIVCO quick install clamps. In the summer they stay off. Prefer the look of the bike without them. Also have a set of fabric lowers that I take with me in the summer just in case

If you are going unvented to save a few bucks you will be sorry. The lowers can hold in quite a bit of heat especially on the right side. Open the vent and the heat dissipates. If you want to have something for the rain you might want to look into soft lowers that can be kept in the saddlebags and snapped in place for inclement weather.

I bought a set after reading and am very happy with them,, I have a black bike so no painting was needed , except I did use a black paint sick to paint in the tan area around the glove box

Id say if you can buy a set of used non vented cheap, go that way. You can always add the vents. I live in the dirty south, and still enjoy my lowers enough that I run them year round. For the roadglide they prevent the buffeting and Ive found them handy to place 6.5" speakers in. To each their own.
