I tried one on my '06 EGC. It lasted less than 24 hours. I hated it. It does move you closer and lower but at a cost, less padding. I found it very uncomfortable. I went with the Sundowner seat, new bars and Chippewa thick soled logger boots.
I'm 5'7'' with a 30'' inseam. I changed to a Sunray premium seat and really like it. Excellent all-day comfort and it puts me a little closer to the bars and the highway pegs.
I think the Sundowner is basically the same if you don't need the Sunray's heat.
It does move you down & forward. It is also the most uncomfortable thing I ever had on my bike for 2 hours. Went with the Sundowner & love it. Add some new bars & your Golden.
I'm 5'6" and the reach seat was significant improvement over the stock seat. I'm now flat footed and have a comfortable position riding position on the bars. I'd say it moved me a good inch forward.
I put the reach seat on when I got my 08. Have 43,000 on it with numerous 2,000 mile and one 7,000 mile trip and am very comfortable. Moved me about 1 inch closer and about the same amount lower.

I dont like the way the sundowner looks - too bulky looking for the street glides lines.
