Default HD Reach seat - how much closer does it put you to the bars?

I'm thinking about a HD reach seat on my new '10 FLHX and need to know how much closer they actually put you to the bars?? Are they comfortable??

Thanks for any feedback good or bad.

I put a reach seat on my 09 Ultra and really like it. It will put you 1 im closer and drop you an inch. Works real well for me. I'm 5' 7".

I tried one on my '06 EGC. It lasted less than 24 hours. I hated it. It does move you closer and lower but at a cost, less padding. I found it very uncomfortable. I went with the Sundowner seat, new bars and Chippewa thick soled logger boots.

I'm 5'7'' with a 30'' inseam. I changed to a Sunray premium seat and really like it. Excellent all-day comfort and it puts me a little closer to the bars and the highway pegs.

I think the Sundowner is basically the same if you don't need the Sunray's heat.

It does move you down & forward. It is also the most uncomfortable thing I ever had on my bike for 2 hours. Went with the Sundowner & love it. Add some new bars & your Golden.

I'm 5'6" and the reach seat was significant improvement over the stock seat. I'm now flat footed and have a comfortable position riding position on the bars. I'd say it moved me a good inch forward.

I put the reach seat on when I got my 08. Have 43,000 on it with numerous 2,000 mile and one 7,000 mile trip and am very comfortable. Moved me about 1 inch closer and about the same amount lower.

I dont like the way the sundowner looks - too bulky looking for the street glides lines.

How tall are you?
