I have an o4 ultra.prettiest bike i ever owned,no doubt.I am at the point I just wish I had something simpler,like my 1200 low was.My wife never rides with me.The low was so light so quick, so fun.My ultra is a cadillac but not any fun for the kind of riding I do.Actually I just need some used bike worth about 4 grand to ride once in awhile.I guess I am just getting tired of bikes in general.I went to Sturgis.Whoopee.My wife and i spent tons of money going there and we both scratched our heads saying what is the big deal?Anyone else ever have these feelings?

if the ultra is paid off why don't you save some scratch and get yourself a bike to beat on?

You just need to change bikes. I had an Ultra and started losing enthusiasm for riding it except on long trips. I traded it for a new Softail Custom and rode that enthusiastically for twelve years until I bought my current Road King.

I think you just need another bike, and you seem to know it. However, if you did not enjoy Sturgis and it was your first time, then who knows. Good luck.

 

nope,I have never been without a motorcycle since I was 10 years old and I am 48 now and I don't plan on being without one until the day I depart,if I get bored with them I do some mods or I get another one,the way I see it life would be a pretty boring existence without one,I do agree with you on the bike rally's ,they do nothing for me.

 

Find another bike for the type of riding that you like to do..Ah ha thats why they make more than one type of bike..as far as bike events well they are as different as much as the people that attend them...Whoopee

 

I've seen all kinds of Sportsters for under $5K on craigslist. May want to try having two bikes.

 

I feel for you, I'll give you $8000 for the boring ultra and you can get a hayabusa

I too had the same feeling when i gave up my fxr to get this electraglide std..I thought the eglide was cool but on my first ride it felt exactly like a cadillac, i just had more fun on the fxr. i sold the fxr for cheap so i would buy it back any day. and still keep my eglide of course.
