Cool Horn Hookup --- PLEASE HELP

I bought this horn and called the company to make sure it's 12 V
http://www.stebel.it/stebel2009/prod...pologia=pickup
I hooked it up, using this diagram:
http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/4394/jan1001.jpg

It's working, but not more than 30% of the sound

Did I do something wrong?

Please help me.

One more thing:
When I hook it up to 24V (2 butteries X 12V) it's works good,
but horn marked 12V...

Thank you all!

Many people use that horn, hooked up the same way with great results. The Mini-Beast actually uses that stebal horn as well.

There is always a chance you got a faulty horn and may need to exchange it. Might be a bad compressor or maybe a bad horn part.

I have the Wolo BadBoy, when I wired it up according to the supplied wiring diagram, the horn always on. I wired up the relay this way (from my car stereo install days, long time ago) and is working fine:

87 to battery
86 from original horn wire
85 to ground
30 to Wolo horn

I don't think this have anything to do with your problem, though.

Assuming that pins 85 & 86 excite the coil & operate the relay, & that pins 30 & 87 are the contacts of the coil you have done nothing wrong. Since the horn operates that should be correct. If all those assumptions are correct, you have a bad horn.............

Run heavier gauge wires. Especially the ground wire from the horn. If I remember correctly, the kit to install the HD air horn recommends it for the exact problem you state.

I hope that helps.

I used the single horn wiring harness here for my Stebel.

Default I have one

When I first installed mine I wrapped some self adhesive foam around the compressor and it blocked the air intake: after I figured out the problem she worked great.
Last service the dealership unhooked the 2 wires for some reason and when the hooked them back up they did it backwards. No problem, after I figured it out.
Also blew a relay in a heavy rainstorm last year and had to replace the relay... make sure all your wires are covered well.

Your schematic is correct. I`ve worked with relays a long time and #30 is allways battery power. You must have a bad horn. Only other thing I`d try is a better ground connection at the horn.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but does the Stebel horn fit under the stock cow bell cover?
