Default Pictures?

Forgot...you will probably have 1, 2, 3 or 4 broken fairing mounts so I would get these replaced under warranty first....then change out your inner.
Interesting thought on the move to handlebar mounted mirrors... does anyone have some good pictures where they have made that move?

Not drilling holes does appeal to me (and also would help me get to 1 1/4" bars which I have been asking about in another thread)

I just got my inner fairing yesterday and hope to do it next Sat.
I have a flhtc and bought a flhx with the predrilled holes. It wasn't that I really wanted fairing mirrors but couldn't pass up the deal.
I may go with the kuryakyn blind spot mirrors or keep my stemed one and get the Kuryakyn chrome covers to cover the holes.
Any suggestions with that?

My best suggestion is to find a buddy with a batwing bike... park it next to yours... remove the outer fairing and there ya go.... its nice to have that one sitting there to have as a guide...

If you do not have the service manual yet - YA, get one...

Mirrors - I went with the wicked image ones. They are a little smaller height wise, but include a convex portion. I like 'em and if you already have holes...

They help with the elbow view I had as well.

I'd like to do the painted inner fairing too, just ain't a priority right now.
I do know what you mean though about changing the bars, and you'd have to change the mirrors then too. You could go with the Kuryakyn bar mounted turn signal mirrors and eliminate those obtrusive stock "bulb" signals of which would clean up your front end. The Kuryakyn fairing mounted ones look a little different if you ask me...

Thank you for those pictures.. they help a great deal. The more I tihnk about it the more convinced I am that this is the way I am going to go.

Those bars appear to still leave your hands behind the fairing yes?

Are these the ones with the little blind spot mirror? I see wicked makes both types.

good idea to do the handlebars at the same time. The Wild1 575's are real nice. Your hands are still behind the fairing too.

Follow up question..
When changing I read it is easier to remove the inner leaving the gages and stuff intact. Afterwards change out the gages to the new inner and put it back on the bike. .
Anyone do this or is it easier to remove everything while on the bike...
