My ears are a mess!

My ears are a mess!
I've had ringing in my ears for over a month. When I go to sleep, it drives me crazy!
Been to the doctor, he says it's possibly allergies. I'm suspecting the wind from riding may have caused some damage to my ears.
Has anyone ever experienced what I'm going through?
If so, has it gone away onits own, or was there a treatment to cure it.
THIS RINGING HAS ME GOING MAD!!

RE: My ears are a mess!
Anthony,
Tinnitus! Not sure of the spelling but I know a lot of friends with it and they tell me that theres not much can be done. I work around some very large rotating equipment and they are extremely loud. Most of the guys I work with have severe hearing loss and many of them complain about ringing in the ears from time to time. I have also and it comes and goes. But the fact that you have had it so long means that you should maybe see another Dr. or a specialist.

Start using the foam earplugs immediately! You can buy them at any drugstore. The wind noise created, regardless of helmet use or not, will degrade your hearing. Actually, you can hear better with them in your ears........cars, voices, etc. while riding. They don't take long to get used to........you owe it to yourself and your family to wear them anytime you go for a ride longer than 10 minutes.........especially at higher speeds.

RE: My ears are a mess!
My left ear has been ringing non-stop for about 30 years now. Bugged me alot at first, but I think that I have actually gotten used to it. If it were to just stop, I would probably panic. Seriously though, I'm 49 years old and have subjected my ears to shooting ranges, stock car tracks, drag strips and a variety of other noisy past times. So, I've made my own bed. I'm assuming that you are younger than I, so I would reccomend you seek out a Doc who specializes in ears. You need to get to the bottom of this. As the others on this thread have mentioned, use hearing protection. The simple foam plugs are the most practical. But go to a good specialist about your ringing ears. It's probably fixable.
