Default How do you know a fairing mount is broken?

What symptoms do you feel when you ride with a broken fairing mount?
Do you hear rattling or does the fairing drop from its place when all mounts are broken?
I have no idea how many mounts there are or how they are connected. But I am hearing a rattling sound inside my fairing area. Thanks

It takes 7 screws to take off the front half of the fairing. You need to pull it off and take a look in there anyway.
Instructions on how to do that here:

Either put a heavy towel on your front fender, to protect it or have a friend help.
Both would be a good idea.

The fairing shakes like a **** and you can move it by holding the handlebars and pushing on the fairing.

Extreme and/or unusual vibrations coming from the fairing itself. The rattling may be a broken fairing bracket, but you can definitely tell just by idling and feeling/seeing the fairing jump around like a cheap motel vibrating bed. Remove the outer and have a look. It'll be obvious.

The part numbers for the brackets are:

58939-96C SUPPORT RH/LWR INR FRNG
58938-96C SUPPORT LH/LWR INR-FRNG

2 verticals, 2 horizontals. Vibration, rattling, etc. are some symptoms. They have since been upgraded to a new design.

DAWG, is there a different part #?
Just bought the left one for a 2000 flht and they
gave me the old style. Not knowing about new
design I thought it was the right part.
Thanks for the info.
