Same here, did they just peddle the old ones to us? Does anyone know when the new ones came out?

I did do a search and see a threat on 6/17/09 with them in it. I have to pick up one today to replace one I bought last year sometime but I guess they don't order the new ones til the old stock is out. Oh well I'm not going to beat this dog anymore for 9.25.

Horizontals are:
LH: 58938-96C
RH: 58939-96C

Verticals are:
LH: 58478-96B
RH: 58479-96B

If you got ones that didn't look like the new designs of the verticals and/or horizontals, then the dealers peddled off their old stock to you. If a bike goes in for warranty, the dealer is obligated to put the latest revision on the bike if that is the part being warranteed, even if they have to order it and they have an old one on hand. If someone just walks in off the street to buy the part, they aren't obligated to give them the updated part and will more than likely try to get rid of the old stock first because anything obsolete cannot be returned to the MOCO on annual returns. Same thing goes for the Brembo brake pads that went to the A revision to include the paste. If you don't ask, you don't get.

Not to mention a fine black powder building up by the radio pocket, as the two faring halves rub each other.

Yes, the revised ones came out long before August.

Sit on the bike, hold the grip with one hand and push forward on the outer edge of the fairing on that side of the bike. It should move almost not at all. If it moves noticeably, the fairing support bracket is broken on that side. Repeat for the other side.

You don't have to be sitting on the bike, of course. Hold grip with one hand and push forward on the outer edge of the fairing on that side of the bike.

Your fairing will shake like crazy but it won,t fall off it,s been held in place by so many different bolts. Most likely horizontal the ones crack on top.

I found both of my horizontal supports were broken a few weeks ago. I found them when I removed the fairing to install my pullback handlebars.

I brought it in yesterday so they could be replaced under warranty. The fairing vibrated pretty good for a while before I found them.
