Default ? about Xm radio power connection

I have read other posts about connecting power for gps and satellite radios.. I have a 2009 Ultra Classic and want to connect my XM/Sirrius Roady radio up. I have the antenna, mounting bracket, etc..just need to do the power.
Included is a photo of the power connection going to the headlight. can I pull off this red rubber protector, put a space connector onto this and then hook my power connector hot line to it and then ground the other wire? The power connector has the fuse box and reducer before going to the plug for the radio, which I will fish thru a cable opening on the fairing.
I know this will be hot whenever the bike is on.. I just can't reach the accessory switch and not mechanical enough to take off the ignition cover plate to go in that way... later down the road I can have someone do that for me..
