Default Hd dash pad holes 1/2"?????

The instructions say drill a 1/2" hole for the dash pad my wife got me?.....The bolts are 1/4" and the washers are around 11/16"..I don't see why it needs 1/2" holes, but they also use the template bass - akwards, to me right side is right and left side is left no matter which way you are facing, my wife must have written these LOL.

Its been my experience with Harley instructions to use a little common sense as they are not always very accurate!

Thanks, even the web site says 1/2" holes....I guess they can buy me a new inner if it's wrong.

Start smaller and work up until the bolt just barley goes through the fairing.....................

Just guessing here...Is it so you can move it around a little to get it centered? I have found Harleys are not always symetric and sometimes you have to fudge something around to get it to look right.

After paying a bunch of money for a painted inner fairing, it would be real tough for me to drill a hole in it.Good luck with your project.

Your right too....When I installed my HogTunes Tweeter Pod, I had to enlarge the holes some to get the pod centered on the fairing...

I always assumed the HD instructions have been translated from Chinese, since that's where they make all their add on crap, hence the confusing instructions sometimes. Or should I have said most times. lol

Dash pad?!?!? WTF is a dash pad? Personally, I wouldn't care if it hurt the wife's feelings, I'd take it back and exchange it for something else if it required drilling large holes into my fairing. Anything else.
