Looks like its Hydro-Dipped, we have a place in town that does it. We did a few 1125R Buells in red, blue, black and grey carbon fiber. It looks way cool in person. I was gonna do my inner but decided to paint it 3 colors instead. They were going to charge us about $225.00 for an inner and cap.
Just contacted hydro-dip.com via the link above. Was kind of excited about maybe getting my fuel door hydro-dipped with flames. That is untill I recieved their quote! $76.00 per hour with an estimated 2-3 hours involved + materials! I could easily end up with $300 or more invested in the fuel door-and thats with me supplying the part! Maybe its just me, but this sounds waaaaaaaaaaaaay outragous!! I was thinking maybe $100-$150 range.
I realize everyone has to make a profit, but I don't see how anyone can afford these rates.
I ordered the Hell's Foundry Carbon fiber....600 bucks...and a bunch of other stuff...I'll post a pick...it ships tomorrow. Figured since I'm putting on apes/wheels/outer fairing/lower forks it would be a waste not to get the inner done...10 year warranty...i ride 40k a year...lets see if it holds up for even 100k.
I've had my Hells Foundry Soft Dash for almost 2 years, no signs of wear at all and it still looks great! No glare, no dust, easy to clean and very different!
