Default braided or vinyl cluch cables?

Changing out my bars to Sweepers +2. I'll need a +3/+4 clutch cable. Are there any advantages to the braided cables over the vinyl black ones other than looks? Same with the throttle/idle cables. I will keep the stock brake lines.

The HD braided clutch cable I have has a teflon lining. Makes for a slightly easier pull.

Thanks, I'd read that the braided HDs were lubed... guess it's the telflon liner that makes it pull easier.

Other than the looks of the cables, have you ever run braided line in a regular fishing rod? You know how it eats up the guides? If you have any 'rub' spots where your cable runs, I believe it might tend to wear more. My vinyl covered clutch cable rubs and has eaten thru the chrome of my front engine gard to the point if I don't clean it often it rusts...

Smoother pulls, will last longer are the other pluses (besides looks). I have these and like the product: http://www.magnumshielding.com/

You can install colored (including black) heat shrink wire covering over the braided stainless steel line, get your choice of color and less rubbing damage from the braided line. And it come off easy. Change the color as it suits your whim, though you will have to disconnect 1 side of the cable each time you change color.
