Question A midwest place to take the group?

Looking for someplace new to take the group (which consist mostly of baggers)
that is 2 to 4 hundred miles from St. Louis. We've been to too many places
to list, but I'm sure there are a lot that we've missed.

We usually leave on thursday and return on sunday. A nice ride there
and back (not all interstate) is desired, as well as fun things to do
once we get there. And of course good food and refreshments!
RIDE TO EAT & EAT TO RIDE that is the way it goes isn't it
There is usually about 15 to 20 bikes so suitable lodging we be needed
as well.

So let's see if you can come up with some place we haven't been
and tell me what the highlights of your choice is.

I'm sure that you all have done Route 66 in both directions to some extent.

Take Hwy 50 to Lawrenceburg, IN, then ride up route 1 the the Horseshoe INN for pizza. Also in IN route 421 going north from US Route 50 is Napoleon's Retreat, some nice motels in Greensburg, IN. Another road which is like a mini dragon road is route 135 from US Route 50 to Nashville, IN.

Come out to Kentucky and visit Rabbit Hash, KY (google it). Then go ride the bourbon trail about 1 1/2 hours south.

Happycampinman that's a great idea but we like to have a base hotel that way everyone
can do what they want during the day and meet back up for the evening. That seems
to keep em happier, they don't feel forced to go with the flow. Shrink & mnskip, yep we've done both of those.

Been to Savana/Galena IL? Savana's a great little biker town that's famous for two biker hangouts, Poopy's, and the Ironhorse Inn. Both have been on bike related t.v. shows many times. Great riding in that whole area, it's scenic and runs along the Mississippi river. Or have you ever been to Wisconsin Dells? It's a VERY COMMERCIAL tourist trap, but you can ride on just about any road outside of town and never be disappointed. You can also go to one of the waterparks for an afternoon if you wish, or there are many many other things to do in town. There's plenty of lodging and great restaurants in both areas. http://www.savannaillinois.com/, http://www.wisdells.com/
