Giant City State Park in beautiful Southern Illinois is 2 hours from St.Louis on the back roads. They have Giant City Lodge and restaurant (which is famous for their Sunday all-you-can-eat fried chicken)and several cabins. From there you have access to many other state parks and Land Between the Lakes in Kentucky all within a couple hours ride.

French Lick, IN and also Nashville, IN areas. Great riding areas and tons of entertainment in addition to that. And of course lots of good eats!

Nashville/Brown County Indiana is also quite the biker friendly area. They have several leather/biker shops there in town. Wherever you go, good luck and be safe!

I didn't read the whole thread but, if you're interested in history, particularly Missouri history, the Jesse James birthsite in Kearney, MO is a fun day trip. Even better is the house where he died (assassinated by the coward Bob Ford) in St. Joe, Mo. We did both in one long day from Omaha.

361 miles from St Louis is Fayettville Arkansas. September 29th they have Biker Blues and BBQ. The trip would inclued riding through some great areas with decent roads and lots of Ozark Mountain stwisties. They usually have some great entertainment and the BBQ is great.

when you make a decision of where you plan to go let me know and i may have some ideas for you....
Looking for someplace new to take the group (which consist mostly of baggers)
that is 2 to 4 hundred miles from St. Louis. We've been to too many places
to list, but I'm sure there are a lot that we've missed.
We usually leave on thursday and return on sunday. A nice ride there
and back (not all interstate) is desired, as well as fun things to do
once we get there. And of course good food and refreshments!
RIDE TO EAT & EAT TO RIDE that is the way it goes isn't it
There is usually about 15 to 20 bikes so suitable lodging we be needed
as well.
So let's see if you can come up with some place we haven't been
and tell me what the highlights of your choice is.
