On the other side of the Tender coin, I never use one and have never had a battery fail. My 2000's first battery was 5 years old when I replaced it outta paranoia. That 10 year old battery still passes a load test. I keep it around for odd jobs. The second one is now 5 years old and still going strong.

It sounds like you need a 2/10/50 charger with a "Start" circuit. I've jumped started my bikes off of car batteries with no problems. My '04 Road King still has its original battery. My motorcycle batteries remain in the bikes during the winter with the ground cable disconnected and they get a few 12hr/2amp charges.

The batteries that MOCO uses are not a off the shelf Wal-Mart kind. They are also pretty pricey. 15 months is still under warranty if it was on a new bike. Up here a MOCO battery is worth $200.

My batteries never go on the battery tender in the summer. I never have taken the battery out in the winter on any of my bikes.... ever! They do get the tender and started every 3 weeks, but I've never had an issues with MOCO batteries.

The only time was when my Hogtunes amp wouldn't switch off on the RG. After a week of not riding it, it would drain the battery. That was my own doing.

Take it to the dealer. It's not a cheap battery and covered by the warranty. It may not even be the battery? It could be the charging system... or something else, as in my case, doing it such as a bad amp?

Even on the 02 Heritage, not once did I ever have a battery failure in over 5 years in a climate that isn't any where near Texas. I'm talking -40 winters and I rarely heat my garage either.

Actually, if you search the forums, I don't think you'll even find very many problems that go back to the battery?? Maybe a fuse, loose conection... etc. That speaks volumes.

You first trip should be to the dealer. Especially if it's under warranty.

My buddies 03' RK 47K still has the original battery. Never been on a tender, never been out of the bike, stores it in his 70 degree shop all winter and starts it once a month. Go figure.
