Default Battery tender connection = lighter socket?

Hey Guys,

Seeing as the battery tender is such a low trickle charge, why couldnt you just put a cigarette lighter plug on the end of it and "feed" the battery via the cig socket?

What do you think??

As long as you can light a ciggarette with the key in the off position, there is no reason you can't use the cig plug.

In all honesty, why don't you just hook up a pigtail to the battery and plug it in?

Why not use the battery harness that comes with the Battery Tender. Hook it to the battery one time and use the pigtails to charge the battery and use it power your heated gear. Could it be any easier than that.

Think about it, battery tender.....charge battery.....not cig.
hook it to the battery and be done with it. That's why you receive the battery pig tail, so you can hook it to the battery.

Yeah your right. Didnt think about the "key off no power" issue. I just hate to have plugs flopping around. I'd prefer something hard mounted of sorts. I'm gonna have the same problem when I get my permanent mount Gerbing Controller in and have to install it.

My '08 has a pigtail hanging just above the oil filler cap that's batt. direct.Batt tender I have came with the same plug.Believe that's why it's there. If your charger doesn't have the same plug, any auto parts store has them in the trailer light sect.

Your 08 should already be wired for a battery tender.
