Default Found a great application for the iphone

The family got me an Iphone for Christmas. Found an application that some of you would like. It is called Instamapper. It is free. While you are riding you can start the instamapper software. It uploads to a google map for free showing your location. Anyone that has your password on the Instamapper site they can go and view where you are. Also it keeps track of your routes so you can save them when you return. Hope you enjoy and have a great year!

You can use that to keep track of your kids or your better half.

I heard the FBI uses instamapper. Sounds good if you are into that. I don't want anyone knowing where I am. But, I might as well get it since it's free.

I'm with ya there....

Think that's troubling... play with Shazam for the iPhone a bit. It's REALLY cool, but given that we can get it for free and how well it works, it just makes ya wonder how sophisticated the stuff we can't get and what it can do with regard to recognizing and identifying voice patterns, (key?) words, etc.....

I love my shazam. When CRS (can't remember chit) sets in I use it.

If you don't want anyone knowing where you are make sure you pay cash for everything on your trips because your credit and debit cards can be tracked instantly. Also, never use your cell phone. That can track you down too.

The wired world takes full advantage of the technology most of us use.

More.. just checked instamapper and the MotionX Lite app is much better.
It is more of a tracker. After the walk it emails yourself or whoever the trip specs and a link to a google map of the route you covered. Check the app info to see how much more it provides...

Something unrelated to maps but new to the Iphone is MyRide. just started using it, it's not free, and it seems pretty cool for keeping track of things. I got an iTunes gift card for Xmas and had to find something to use it on.

Simply having your cell phone turned on allows you to be tracked or traced. Same for Onstar. Where is the paranoid smiley?
