Default Saddlebag Extentions or the RealThing?

Hey Guys, Wanting feedback from those of you who installed the extentions instead of replacing the bags. Looks to me that installing the extentions, filling the seams and painting the bags would be fairly simple. The cost would be less than half the cost of stretched bags for the same result. If so, which extentions did you use?

Here's a long thread, with a lot of information and pictures. Top Shop is also a sponsor-

My custom bike guy has always told me that no matter how good you get the seam on the extensions, that after some time that the seam WILL show thru. Has to do with the fact that the extension will further dry over time and will pull away from the original bag causing the seam. Just what he tells me. He has said that sometimes you can just re-clear the part and refinish to remove the seam, but I'll let more informed guys chime in here. FWIW.

I am getting ready to do Klockwerks extensions on mine and will let you know, I got a good price on some so it was a no brainer for me cost-wise. I am going to channell and glass mine though in hopes of avoiding the above mentioned issues. We'll see how it goes.

I too dont mind the seams, just though with another month or two of snow I would just install extentions and fill the seams. I looked at the Harley extentions, not sure about the angle on the botom. The Top Shop bags sure do look great, just thought I could get the same look doing it myself since Ive got time on my hands till spring. Anyone with pics of there saddlebag mods?
