Anyone using the Scala Rider Q2 with a half helmet - if so any pics so I can see fitment? Also if you are using this unit will the boom move away from your mouth and store under the visor portion of the helmet when not in use?

Sorry no pics.I have the Scala Rider Q2 with the long boom.I tuck the mic. right up under the visor when not in use.It's mounted on a Super Seer mod 1602 1/2 helmet.I used the glue plate that came with the Scala.Mounted right over my left ear.Just had to trim a little of the helmet molding so the glue plate mounts flush to the helmet.I've ran it for 2 yrs. Imo the glue plate works the best on a 1/2 helmet,never could get the clamp to work very well.Just have to make sure when you mount it it's where you want it cause the glue plate is stuck on for good.The long boom works perfect on a 1/2 helmet.Just had to buy a set of soft helmet ears for the speakers.

 

what are helmet ears?

 

They're like ear muffs that your helmet strap loops through with pockets inside that hold your speakers.Go to www.superseer.com under accesseries,think they're called communication muffs or ears.Should fit any 1/2 helmet.I've seen other co. that make them.I've been real happy with this Seer equip.

anyone else used their half helmet without mods?

 

The only trick I had to do to make it work on my half helmet, was sew in some place to put the ear phones, since the sides of my half helmet were open. However, once this was done, either the clamp or adhesive mount worked fine on the half helmet. I just sold my Q2 set, so I don't have any pictures any longer.

 

Why did you sell it? Were you not happy with it?
