Default battery tender connection

forgive my ignorance but I'd like to confirm if this is the correct connector for my battery tender. I'd hate to fry my system by assuming something like this. I have read other posts where dealers have installed these connectors for this reason. Can anyone confirm if this is the connector everyone is talking about?

Yep, that's the one. The battery tender has circuits to tell if everything is hooked up correctly so it shouldn't do any damage even if it was wrong. Better safe than sorry though...

yep, just plug it in, it's nice that most dealers started doing this. My 05 was not done but my 08 was.

That is what is known as an SAE 2 place connector. Comming from the battery, the side with the metal pin exposed should be negative and the one with the metal pin recessed should be positive.

It's also the place to plug in your heated vest if you use one.
If you do need one, run the plug to the left side of the seat. The plug-in/ cable for the vest is usually in the left front pocket of the vest.

There is a hole in the plate between the engine and battery. When not in use, just curl it back and stick the end in there. You don't need much out as there is lots of wire on the male end with the vest.

Why don't you trace it? It's done easily enough by removing the seat and seeing if there are tap connections on your battery terminals

Thanks for clearing up my own ignorance. I thought that was just a second power port.

It could be used for that as well since it should have a 15A inline fuse. I know some have attached a cig lighter adapter to it for cell phone charging and such.
