Of the 7 Harley's I've owned in the past, I've financed all 7 of them (never paid cash upfront).
- Paid off the loans on 3 of 7 bikes and owned them outright (sold 2 of those 3)
- Sold 3 of 7 bikes before paying them off, and then paid off the loan after the sale
- Had one stolen

I was a little short both times I bought a new Harley. It took me almost a year to pay each one of them off. Title is in the safe now.
I agree that a person is much better off saving and paying cash for toys, but sometimes when I get real close and see just what I want at a price I can live with, I get anxious and borrow a little to make it happen.
