Question For Road Glide Fans
I know this has been discussed here before but I just have to ask it again--how bad is the wind turbulence with the RG's sharknose fairing when compared to a bat wing fairing with both bikes having stock windshields (except for the Street Glide of course)? I've driven both and I definitely feel as if the batwing did a better job, but I also know that a lot of wind comes from underneath on both types which is something that can be dealt with seperately.
Thanks!

RE: Question For Road Glide Fans
Yes, with the Road Glide, you do get a little more wind from underneath--compared to the bat wing. However, I feel, you also get more cooling to your engine as well. The wind is tolerable, and lessen when you cruise with your legs on the highway pegs. I think, at high speed, you will get the wind from either bike. With that said, I stick with the ride of the Road Glide any day. Very smooth, and distinctive from all other baggers.

RE: Question For Road Glide Fans
No problem. My bike started out as an EG with the batwing fairing. I changed it out to the RG (sharknose) fairing. With the lowers on, it rides, handles, and blocks the wind like a champ. You also dont get the highspeed wiggles because the fairing is not connected to the handlebars. Zook

RE: Question For Road Glide Fans
I have the RG and I like it very well so far. I'm 6'2" and comfortable with the stock windshield. I get a little head buffeting at slower speeds and the faster I go, the less I feel it's effects. After all of my engine troubles were fixed I had it on the freeway to really check it out. Due to trafic I only got to 100-105mph before I had to back off the throttle and the ride was great. Very stable and I still had plenty of power to go. Only mods are Dresser duals, SE II slip-ons, PCIII, and SE air cleaner with stage 1 download.

RE: Question For Road Glide Fans
Take a hard look at the lower fairings that are installed on both models. The gap between upper and lower on the Roadglide is practically zero, while there is a significant void between them on the batwing models. I've owned both, and prefer the Roadglide.....have owned two. Unbeatable in the rain and cold, and handles better.........really.
