Default Cop Bike configurations

Had a motorcycle cop tell me a fellow LEO has a 110 motor in his cop bike - I was surprised. Anyone ever heard of this from the factory? I have to admit I haven't really paid that much attention to what the MoCo does for LEO . . . but now I'm curious.

I've only heard of the 103 in the police bikes from the factory.

Some locations don't supply the bikes for officers, but reimburse them a certain amount each month for the bike, maintenance, etc that they buy themselves. I guess as long as it had the lights, badges, etc someone could have put in a 110.

Default cop bikes

I am in Illinois and went to Effingham which is 2/3 down state they now have 3 on HARLEYS on the road and all are 110. Officer told me they do not make a car or bike he cannot catch. I am amazed they will be on duty throughout winter due to city cutbacks they are not buying cars. Nice guy though wished me Merry Christmas and slow down and sent me on my way.
Merry Christmas to all!

Interesting - although I'm not sure who "they" are. There's no shortage of cars and bikes that can outrun an Ultra with a 110 cu inch engine. I think it likely has more to do with the skill and coordination (radio, air etc) of the LEOs and the stupidity of anyone that might try to outrun a cop.

You may out run them on the highway, but you won't out run their 2-way.
