I traded a Softail Deluxe in for my '09 Electra Glide. I could not be happier with the trade. The balance and handling of the EG is amazing. Two bikes would be great, but if I had to do it over...bagger baby!
Thanks for all the good advice. In Tennessee they don't start renting cycles until March. I plan to test the SG and RKC (leaning toward RKC). I'll let you know how it goes then. Rebel97
I'm lucky, I have a Dyna and a Road King. It was my wifes idea to get a tourer and she really enjoys the comfort and room back there. We do lots more miles together now. I still love the Dyna for blasting around but can do long days on it very happily. I split my riding up so that short trips and solo one day stuff is on the Dyna. Overnighters and 2 up rides is on the RKC. Maybe that gives you an idea of where the priority lies for you.
I went from a DR650 to a 08 Street Glide, the DR was extremely nimble but did not have the weight for the hwy. I love the SG, it is heavier but the cg is low and it balances very well. I am somewhat vertically challenged at 5'8" and a 30" inseam and the SG fits me perfect.
Come on down to Fla for a long weekend and do a fly and ride.

I had a FXDSE and a Kawasaki 1600 Nomad. Both great bikes in their own respect. Got rid of both after trying out the 2010 Street Glide. I'm probably older than you, (64), 5'9", and think that the FLHX handles great! Go for it.
I rode SuperGlides for years, one with a stroked shovel. It handled Okay.Today with big inch motors, upgrades for suspension, and brakes, baggers are just as good as far as feel.My opinion,or should say choice.
