I think the main issue is where you live. Your bike uses all of it's ECM's abilities to keep from falling off the "down-under".

The throttle blade to throttle position relationship is not as bad as one might think. I spent a lot of time logging this over the last couple years. Nearly all of the areas that show measurable differences are above 80Kpa in the map (high load upper throttle positions/low RPM's) This strategy is there to help smooth this high load area, the same reason it is this way in all of the TTS/SEST calibrations.
