IMC makes the headsets for Harley. If you call them they will give you a code for HDF members to order online for $10 off...

I have this headset/mic combo and it works fine with my half helmet. Not Bose quality music, but like it on long trips as it cuts down on wind noise, helps keep the ears warm, and the some of the truckers can't believe they are talking to a two-wheeler. I find it comfortable for hours on end and wear them with the mic on the right side, and cord zipped up in the jacket. Will prolly get another set for when the wifey is on the back. Not bad for 70 bux...

+1 on the IMC. They work great. Much better than the one off my 06 Ultra. The old HD ones would not handle any bass when playing music. My IMC work well with music and como. Some fellow club riders have now bought them and we use them on group rides. Much better than my old HD ones. Still have them on my 3/4 helmets. Only bad thing about getting the wife a headset is - they use them.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Looks like the IMC comm headset is what I will get.

The IMC and the HD set looked alike, but I was not postive that IMC was the manufacturer for HD or not. So like Olde Skool said...can't go wrong for 70 bucks! Even with the Chicago HD 20% discount you can't get theirs for 70 bucks.

I have some we use with our half helmets. Bought them on Ebay from Vinnie Tracy.com. Really work well. We use them for intercom & music. Only time I don't use them is when I ride alone. The IMC ones look like they are built a little better. But I had some problems with the ones I had and Vinnie sent me new one for free. I had had them for a year or better and he still replaced them. They work great. If it's real windy you might have to cup you hand over the mic when you talk. Plus I press the button on the left handle bar to talk. If you have them set for voice activated the wind will break in. So we only use that feature when we are in town. I love them.

I am not certain here, but I think you can only use the intercom with the music in the headset and not over the speakers. I bought several PC Mic's and cut the 1/8" plug off of them and replaced the end with a 7 pin din plug. Then I made a clip on the Mic so I could clamp it on my half helmet chin strap just below the helmet itself. Works great for just the CB and I can throw it in the tour pak when I don't want to use it.

I also bought a PC behind the head headset with speakers and did the same thing so I could listen to the music and use the intercom/CB. It works pretty good too and didn't cost much to make.

I bought 2 sets of the imc's last year, and I wasn't really thrilled with them, they told me the audio would be much better than the stock HD set that came with my 09, it wasn't, hard to listen to music on them, the wires are thin, I have one side cutting out on my unit already and I hardly use my 3/4.

Not very satisfied.

edit: I also ordered them before a trip and paid extra for rush shipping and they sent me the wrong product, so I didn't have 2 headsets for my trip

every headset has a two year warranty give us a call and we'll make sure you are taken care of. if there is any gap between your ears and the speakers, audio will not be clean. helmets with deep ear pockets require that you put padding behind the speaker to bring it closer to your ear.
