RE: Dealer pushing 06 Opinion Please!
Welcome to the Family !
Last year I bought my wife a 05 Superglide, just as the 06's were hitting the floor.
We got a New 05 Superglide Custom with SEII and a touring seat for $12,900 (About $2500 below sticker) so they do and will deal.
Most dealers get their new allocations of 07's based on what they sell for 06's so they dont want any sitting on the showroom floor costing them floor plan $$$$
Shop around, IMO the 06 is a better route until the work out whatever first year issues they might have with the so called imporovemnts they made (Reworked Exhaust, Transmission and tranny)

I bought my '06 RK in April of this year - no regrets. Don't know what the pricing will be on the '07s but my guess would be that you could get a smoking deal on an '06 now. I agree that it may take a year of two to work the bugs out of the '07s - might look a a new bagger 'round '09 or so.

My dealer is taking orders for any 07 at MSRP and giving $1000 off all 06's.
If you read HD's new info on the TC96, they say this engine has been pre-tested more than any engine in history. They claim to have well OVER 1 million miles of testing, stating they would not release this motor until it was perfect. This is from pg28 of their new 07 model sales brochure. Maybe just a good sales pitch? I hope not, I just ordered a 07!

Shop around.....at 330,000 units annual production, demand is now under production from what I've seen in the midwest. I picked up my '06 E-Glide last week, saved over $3000 on it vs. a new '07 at list price. 96 ci and the 6 speed were tempting, but I like the savings better!

07 It Is!!
Folks,
Thanks to everyone for the information, opinions, and thoughts regarding the 06 versus the 07 EG Classic. I made two important decisions
1) Don't let the deal sell you what THEY want you to buy
2) Go with what makes you happy
I tested the water at the 'other' Austin dealer and found them to be top notch (What I expect when dealing with a major purchase) and willing to work with me to make a deal that i felt was very fair. The first dealer was so loaded with 06 models that they were telling me that the 07s would be 2K+ above MSRP.
However, I'm the new owner of a 2007 EG Classic and I am picking the bike up tomorrow (Saturday) for a long weekend of break in!!!!
Thank you again for your participation on this forum, without it, I may still be on the fence.
