Default Headlight Bulbs!

I've been using the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs for years, I like everything about them except the longevity. Anyone have something comparable . They have 55/60 watts with 4000k light. I'm lucky to get 1 to1 1/2 years out of them.

Are you using the Silverstar H4-ST bulbs? The ST bulbs are made for and recommended by Sylvania.

You can't go by months or years. How many miles do you do in a year?

I think I read they only last like 300 hrs & that number is reduced if your like me and ride with high beam on in daylight. I'd like to find something better also but I guess it's a small price to pay for being seen in the daytime.
Mine don't last more than 18-24 mo. also.

I use the st silverstars. I average 8 to 10 thousand a year. I also always ride with my high beam on. The high is the only one burning out.

Dealer told me they all have relatively short lives due to whatever makes them brighter than stock wears them out faster. Not sure if this simple logic is true but it sounds reasonable. Someone told me about this guy below and his expertise in this area. Planning to contact him soon so I don't know if he's got anything better.

Think I'm going to try one of these.
It's guaranteed to stay lit.
Headlight/taillight combo.

I used the same, with about the same issue. Stopped simply because I kept burning them out (during the day, when you'd hardly ever notice). Often - Probably every 3k miles or so.

I've been using the Philips MotoVision bulb for the last year/10,000 miles. Brighter than stock, and has a slight orange hue during the daytime, which makes you stand out a little (more visible). Designed specifically for motorcycles, so it "should" stand up to the abuse more than a bulb designed for car use.
