Bare in mind that a single partial fingerprint (or just about any other spot) on a halogen bulb will greatly reduce its life.

I've seen guys push in a halogen bulb and have it burn out the same day.

Mine burned out quickly too. Probably within 3k miles. Same with my truck, I put them in there and they burned out within a year.

Silverstar are automobile bulbs, not designed for vibration and shock from motorcycle use.

You need a motorcycle bulb like a PIAA motorcycle bulb that is made to withstand vibrations and shock. I had a set of PIAA bright white bulbs I used on two Harley's for over 4 years and 40,000 miles before I purchased my Goldwing. I plan to use them again if I am crazy enough to get another POS Harley.

DON'T TOUCH THE BULB, clean with alcohol before installing, as mentioned a single fingerprint can reduce the life considerably.

I think you are on the wrong forum. Don't you want the "Goldwings rock, Harley's suck" forum?

If your riding 8-10K per year that makes sense on only lasting 18mo. I still think 20.00 is cheap to be seen. I ride with the same group of guys alot and I am the only one who uses a Silverstar, manytimes have been told wow are your lights brighter than the rest There is no comparison between a Silverstar & regular H4 lamp Day or Night.
I waste 20.00 on alot of things every 18 mo. that wont help me be seen.

I'd hate to add up all of the $20's I waste in 18 months!!!

I like to see were I'm going so I guess I'll keep ponying up the $1.11 a month so I can see what I could/would have hit without finding out the hard way

I've been running the Adjure blue dot head / driving lamps for three years now. They run hot, but they run very bright too. Just another option.
