Well I bought an 07 EGlide standard off ebay with 6000 miles. Price was 9995.00+575.00 shipping from Ohio to Mass. I bought the EGlide because it was a good price but kinda wish it had just a bit more chrome on it,radio and a couple other things. The SG has all 4 gauges (white)and radio and a bit more chrome. But do I like my Eglide? OH YA! But just couldnt beat the price.

Well Thanks Guys, I'm headed there this morning. I will be SURE to repost and let you know which way I go. Seems to me I'll be leaning towards the Eglide/Ultra.

If you like the looks of an SG do yourself a favor and just buy an SG. I bought an Ultra and no amount of money I threw at it would make it "look" like an SG. What you end up with is something in between. It was always a compromise between what I wanted it to look like, and my checkbook and time... I finally gave up. I can pretty much say I wasted the better of almost two years and never really enjoyed it. Nice bike...great bike... just not the look I was after. I never made a connection with this bike so I sold it.

From my first hand experience you cannot just take off parts an EGC or Ultra to make it look like an SG. It's not that easy. First off there is the paint. Like pinstripes? Second, the rear fender and bumpers...start pricing a new rear fender, the tri bar light and fascia, SG take off front fender etc, etc, etc, and etc! This stuff is NOT cheap and it's time consuming.

If you want a tourpak there are several options. Buy from Chicago Harley at 20% discount, buy from craigslist, buy from dealer, buy from ebay and finally...buy aftermarket for a tenth the price...

Here is the best I could do with the Ultra. Not bad. And my wifes SG...

The Ultra with my other SG.

Point is, get the bike that speaks to you. Buy the options you want and call it a day. Don't try to make something into something it's not.
It's expensive and when you go to trade in or resale later, you gotta put all that crap back on and take the other crap off... took me 18 hours and I still left 50% of the crap on the bike when i traded it.

My experience and opinion anyway. Good luck with your purchase.
