Id like to know also. How can an electronic light cost $250. You could almost buy a computer for that!

I got my BAL from a local HD dealer who is also a distributor for BAL. The dealer had a 20% off sale and applied the discount to the BAL. Go to the BAL site and look for a local HD dealer that carries them and my guess is that this time of year you should have no difficulty finding a 20% off sale.

Damn... I want one! Not sure i can wait for the next 20% off at my dealer. Bike Week is coming up and it would be nice to ride down with this bad boy.

Side note: One week after bike week 2009, an acquaintance I met through a friend was run over at a stop light and is now paralyzed. I don't know if a BAL would have helped, but you never know...

Well I bit the bullet and ordered up the BAL-2 with L.E. discount just couldn't pass it up....Supposed to arrive Monday....Since its definitely supposed to out shine the 4 LED version with its 12 LED's...I'll post a Pic soon as I get a chance.
I too hope they come out with LED Turn Sigs....

Man that must have been a helluva discount on a $440 light. I know I had a hard time paying $195 for my BAL-3ST. It was worth it and I have no regrets. But it is initially hard to part with that kind of money for a tail light.

The best explanation is..... WOW there is "some kinda mark up" on the BAL-2 LE version. The price for 12 LED version was very well within reason considering the price of the BAL-1!!!!
If the BAL-1 jokingly burns the paint off approaching vehicles....I'm sure wondering what the BAL-2 will do???

I agree it was very expensive but money well spent if I can bring some more light to the situation when stopped. Light is crazy bright though
