Default 2010 FLHX wheel will fit a 2008 FHLX

For anyone who would like to put a 2010 FLHX 18 inch wheel on a 2008 FLHX that has a 16 inch wheel, it can be done without any problem or changing the axle or bearings. I asked my HD dealer if I would have to do anything for it to fit and to my surprise he said no problems and as long it's ABS to ABS it is a exact swap. There's no issue with the odometer being off because the diameter of the 2 wheels are almost the exact same diameter. The difference is mostley the look of the 2 wheels. The 2010 wheel will show more wheel than tire of the 2008. The 2008, 16 inch tire has a bigger sidewall and the 2010 tire has a lower profile. I just like the look of the lower profile tire and more wheel showing. I will post picture later if anyone wants to see the difference. So after all is said, if there's anyone looking to put a 2010 wheel on a 2008 FLHX dont worry that it won't fit...JUST DO IT...it looks great. Oh yeah I forgot to say I just got mines done today.

I found a 200 mile, $1150 PM Gasser wheel contrast cut and $150 Metzeler tire combo listed on ebay for a FXD, $420 delivered, was the same as my 08 FLHX for bearing size and brake disc flange to flange dimension. Worst case I figured I would have to buy bearings to make the swap. Didn't have to, as the bearing ID is the same. The OD of the tire is exact dim as the 16" take off. Best part, no one else bid but me. About damn time I win a auction, lol

Looks great. You can also use the '10 wheel on '00-later touring models by using a '09 later axle. Did the temp install on my '07 this weekend. Didnt take any pics since I just put it on to see if the brakes lined up and the bike still looks like my sig pic.
