Guys, I have an '06 EGC, and I have Sirius Radio hooked up with the power coming from the cigarette lighter plug-in. I want to free that up and hard wire the radio. Where do I need to tap into??
You could do a couple of things. Easiest would be to take off the outer fairing and tap into the power to the cigarette lighter plug. The better way would be to run a fused lead from the battery. There should be small plug labeled B+ under the seat of your bike, in the area in front of the battery tray. It will be a red 12 gauge wire with a white plastic plug on the end. That can be hooked up to the Adapter HD sells, or you can just buy the plug and run your own wire. The plug is like $2.50 or so, run a fused wire under the gas tank to the fairing and you're in business.

I have my GPS hardwired through the unused HDI connector at the back of the headlight. If you pull the outer fairing off you will see to connectors (ground and 12v) that are not used. Tap into there.
I made a harness, wire directly off of battery to audo amp,2 wires off of aux/acc plug under seat ran the wires in vinyl wire loom to faring.Made a little fuse box which feeds a Sirius power supply,550 Zumo, power point on the fairing and the amp.
Sorry to hijack the thread, but is the "switched" lead under the seat 12v's?
Looking to hardwire my GPS into it. Then step it down to 5v. I'm also assuming its got a fuse in the box already?
I'd like to be able to switch it on and off.
I used the wire that came with the motocycle install kit and ran the power from the back of the cigeret litter inside the faring have had no issue what so ever.

Yes it's 12 volts and I believe it's on a 15amp fuse.My Zumo calls for a 2amp fuse, the Sirius radio 2amp and the power point I mounted on the fairing I stuck in a 10amp fuse all coming out of a little waterproof fuse box I made under the left side of the fairing.
