The only thing I ever worried about while using my lift is, having it jacked up with the safety latch set and the hydraulic jack start leaking. Preventing it from being lifted up to release the latch stops and then to the ground. What would you do then?
Most of us have had things go sideways as we are trying to do something and end up taking shortcuts or taking our eyes off the ball for just enough time for it to take that bounce that puts it out of reach. We live and we learn by what we do and the mistakes we make. Thankfully the damage was not significant and that you can repair it.

You would have to replace the bottle jack. The weight is sitting on the safety lock so remove the bottle and replace
