I have a Ness Big Sucker II (the one where the filter element is smaller diameter at the backing plate than at the outboard side). Anybody know offhand if a Big Sucker I element will bolt up to my Stage II backing plate and standoffs, and also if the Ness Stage I element and the SE element are the same size? (Both IB and OB diameters and width).

 

I am pretty sure the stand-offs are different lengths, but if you call Ness they should be able to provide the shorter stand-offs for you.

I bought a Big Sucker stage 2 kit with a crushed filter off ebay for ~$25 basically for the backplate. I didn't like the chrome "horshoe" tube on my older SE stage 1. I was able to reuse the stage 1 SE filter (K & N type) with the Ness BS by changing the standoffs like Dawg said. They were pretty inexpensive, like $2.5 each from Ness. The filter smaller diameter is the same.
