Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding an after market seat/handle bars, for my 06 Road King Classic. I have the stock seat with a rider and passenger backrest. It seems that I sit too high from the ground for solid footing especially on uneven ground, and too far forward for my legs to be comfortable on the highway pegs, but too far back for the stock handle bars. The rider back rest helped, however after reading many posts it seems there are much better seats out there. Corbin, Mustang (nothing available for 06 flhrci), Ultimate, Sundowner ....Sure money is an issue but I would rather spend it once and get it right than to experiment and waste even more. As far as the handle bars go, I know I need them to come back farther so I'm not reaching. But it would be nice if I didn't have to buy longer cables as well. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks Dawg, I found the Sundowner seat for my FLHRCI that matches perfect. I also checked out the Wild One 508's. Right now I'm thinking I'll get the seat first and then use the info from Wild Ones to make sure I get the right bars. Great advice, thank you.

I had the same problem with my Street glide, but I bought a Reach seat from HD, and It moved me up and was cut in the sides so I could reach the ground.

I didn't have to mess with the bars. Check it out before you buy the other seat.

Thanks Hitch Pan, I will check out the Reach Seat. My problem is not only that of not being able to get my feet firmly on the ground or not reaching the handle bars without stretching but also that I'd like my legs to be straighter when my feet are up on my KuryaKyn engine guard. I know, I want it all! Ideally I would like to sit lower and farther back, with the handle bars coming back to a comfortable position.

If you want to go back, then the reach seat isn't for you. Either the Sundowner or an aftermarket, or you could get your stock seat reworked from Mean City Cycles (BadX) here on the forum. You can find his company in the vendor section.
