I'm definitely in the market for some lowers. I just keep looking for a good deal. I may have to just break down, and buy a new set. Geez, I wish I wasn't such a cheapskate.

I also wanted a CHEAP set - cruised ebay and here - actually, the price the OP got was great, I only beat him by a few $$ another poster here got a great deal... I just got tired of looking... Lake Shore HD has an online price of 20% and free shipping most of the time.. then there are no worries of ebay problems with hidden flaws..

There is a custom paint shop in my small hometown that will be doing the Vivid Black with a clear coat for around $140. I have gotten acquainted with the owner/painter over the years. I've done him a few small favors and he is now paying back a favor. I thought about painting with a rattle can but I've talked myself out of it.

The guy that's going to paint my lowers painted this VW Jetta. The steering wheel in the rear is for their kid.

You will love the Lowers. They make riding so much more comfy.
If you think they get to hot in the summer, I took my vents out. Lots more air flow but still get the benefit of the lowers for comfort.

Initially I plain on using the quick release hardware.

You've had a little practice turning a Road King into a full dresser. I noticed your lowers aren't color matched yet. You must have not had them long.

Riding with lowers is like riding with a windshield. Once you get used to them, its hard to ride without.

..... you folks w/ FLH's have it way easier when looking for less-expensive, paintable 2nd hand lowers,
... pre'10 2nd hand FLT lowers are fewer & further between.
