I know there are a lot of people running B lifters with no problems. I'm sure they would be fine. To answer your question, the Black Ops lifters are the only ones I've used with these cams. Whether they are worth the money is a pretty individual choice. They were for me.

My HQ500 cams make 90lbs of torque by 2500 RPM's and stays above 85 LBS of torque to 5200 RPM's in a 96" engine and Kevin said this cam would work fine in a 103 built as long as you stayed below 10-1 compression.

I changed mine to black ops to try and quiet my valvetrain and although they didn't completely fix the noise its a whole lot better
