Question 09-10 serv bulletins and recalls ?

I'm looking at buying a 09 standard, depending on how much discount or a 10 street glide, in the next few weeks. I've been reading all about these serv bulletins and recalls on 09 and 10 models, can someone give me a list of all known repairs I need to look for before I make a deal? I just don't want to buy a bike and find out later that I missed out on getting a repair that I could have talked to the dealer about when making my deal, 'cause of lack of knowledge. Thanks for any and all replies......Mike

Dealer won't let you take delivery of the bike until the recall has been done. It's minor, just some sort of brace where the fuel tank mounts to the frame. Others have complained of the tires cupping. Some have it, some dont.

When on the kick stand some bikes lean over more than others, ask your dealer about that, they can replace the jiffy stand. No trans leaks that I know about. New frame unveiled in 09. You gotta do a search, all of the info is there.

If you lowered the bikes that lean over more, would that help stand it up just a little?

The Jiffy Stand issue was on early 2009 Touring and Touring CVO models. Be aware of this if considering replacement. The 50096-09 bracket will stand the vehicle more upright, particularly if they have lowered suspension. The jiffy stand brackets with extended lean angle were never a sold part and cannot be reordered if the customer does not like the OE bracket. The customer does not have to replace the jiffy stand bracket if they feel it is unnecessary. This is not a recall.

The front tire affected the first half of the 2009 model year. The tire was replaced by he D408F. This is not a recall. The D407F can be replaced following guidelines by Dunlop at a Harley-davidson dealership.

All recalls must be completed prior to delivery. Kits for the above said fuel tank/frame support 0141 recall will be shipped the week of Dec 14th. Ask dealer about this:

"Worth the Wait” Dealer Support Program
Because of the quantity of affected models in your inventory, we will be offering a $250 ”Worth the Wait” credit for all of the new FL Touring vehicles involved in this recall that are retailed (SWR) from your inventory between December 2 nd and December 31 st. This credit will be issued to your P&A account in January based on Harley-Davidson’s review of the VINs involved in the recall that were sold during the program period. This should help you close sales even though the motorcycles cannot be delivered until the recall repair is complete.

How this credit is applied is determined by each dealer.
