I may have some time to rent a scoot while in Florida on personal business. Just looking for suggestions for day trips in the Sarasota/Bradenton area.

There's a LOT to do and see in the area.

Biggest questions are "what do you like?" and "when will you be here?"

There is a Bradenton Dealer http://www.manateeriverharleydavidson.com/ and a Sarasota Dealer http://www.rossiterharleydavidson.com/ as well as others in Tampa or Clearwater to the North or Port Charlotte to the South.
Both of the links include local HOG chapter newsletters, with activities and ideas.

A fun ride is visiting Solomon's Castle, about 50 mi east.
A good source of ideas of things to see are the "One Tank Trips" books by Bill Murphy (on Tampa Bay's Fox station). There are now about 5 books, each with 50 or so ideas.

And in early January, there's the Thunder by the Bay rally. http://www.thunderbythebay.org/

Hope that's a start for you.

If you like beaches, go to Siesta Key and see Siesta Key Beach. You will understand why it is the 2nd most famous beach is Florida.

Ive been to the H/D dealer there.. We stopped just to kill time and the staff was really nice so I bought a shirt there.. Driving up and down the coast is fun and id imagine if id have had my classic it would have really been fun .. Just remember it gets cold in Florida too in the winter...

I was down there in '05. We rented 2 Roadkings for cheap at Rossiter's Harley Davidson in Sarasota. My buddy's brother in law lives there and rides. We rode all over with him as our tour guide for 3 days. I remember Miaki (sp) State Park was cool. We rode out to Arcadia, and later that night seafood at Cortez Kitchen in Bradenton. We were lucky weather in the high 70's and no rain. Enjoy I sure did.

I have always liked to go to the Crab Trap III, in Bradenton. Little spendy, but a very nice meal to be had!!!
