I'm late coming to this thread, but please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. Having gone through the loss of a child myself several years ago I have an idea of what you are going through. I can assure you that although the hurt will never go away, it will get easier as time passes.

I saw this video and it made me think of Elijah. Towards the end it references home and I am certain that although he is sorely missed here that he is at home with God!!!

As someone wrote on this or another forum, Elijah set aside his wife, his daughter, his friends, his hobbies, his interests, his life... to go to Afghanistan in an effort to support our ability to stay safely at home with our familes, friends, hobbies, jobs, play golf, ride our Harleys, whatever... his was the ultimate in selflessness. It's comforting to know that so many people here recognize that and are grateful for it.... that makes his loss not in vain.
