I can only imagine what you are going through. As a father of a son deployed twice to Iraq and blown up twice by IED's, two more sons right behind him I dream about this day often. The nightmare has come to life for you and all I can say is I am sorry and say prayers. Makes me feel insignificant compared to Elijah and his buddys who are volunteering to take the fight to the people that want to kill us. I know he will be joined by many after him and is joing a special group of people that have come before him that have done amazing things for our country and mankind in general for the past 234 years. I believe god has a special section for our military in heaven. Your son is special, they are all special, it takes a certain kind of person to do what he has done, unselfish, honorable, responsible, coragous, and just knowing what it is to be a plain old fashioned good American. Hang your Gold Star proudly. I will be thinking about you and your family for a long time, god bless you and your family and take care of Elijah.
