the ext kit made lift a lot stronger in rear where it was bending at drop out plate and also moving wheel vise forward helped has any body else had these problems
I bought the chock with the 1K lift and mounted it. Works great. I can load and unload my 09 FLHX by myself with no issues. Also, I have not had any problems with the drop plate bending.

I built my extensions out of 16 Gauge Galvanized metal drywall studs. I wielded on clips to clip it to the lip on my table. I move them out of the way after I load the bike. The wheel chock is the way to go too.

Well it's an old thread but I just bought the lift and on the harborfreight web-site (http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb...ift-91764.html) they have the lift for $239.99. But here is the best part, if you spend more than $200 in the store they automatically enroll you for free in the inside track club membership for an additional savings. Out the door lift cost $203.99.

I've had mine for a few years and it works great. The weak link is the wheel vice, which I replaced with the $40 wheel chock. I also relocated the U-bolts so the ratchet straps don't interfere with the lowers.

I see most have gone to this wheel vice but my concern is to work on the front kind of limits this without removing it. I want to build a plank for the side to be able to get on and off then once the bike is secure with the straps I can move the planks out of the way. The other thing I haven't seen is the bike backed onto the lift. Don't know of it's possible or not?

Hey, thanks for reviving this thread! I've been thinking about getting one of these lifts for quite some time now. A $40 sale price, along with some additional savings, is just what I needed to get off the couch!

I'll have to see if they have any in stock tomorrow. I see the wheel chock everyone is talking about, is on sale for $26 also.

I have the one that Masshd has with with the wheel vise. it's neumatic although I dont' have it connected to a compressor. I had a problem with the front wheel chock, called H. F. and got a new one within a week. I paid over 300 for mine and worth every penny. total quality and excellent customer service, surprisingly.
